Can the raw cacao be substituted for something else

Hello Latanya! That is a great question. You can substitute something else for the raw cacao powder. The purpose of the cacao is to give it the chocolate flavor. You could use any other chocolate flavored component you might have (like chocolate protein powder) if you like, but take note on whether the new component is sweetened or not. If it is sweet, you may want to use less of the maple syrup in the recipe to balance out the flavor. Any smoothie can be customized to fit your preferences, so please let us know if you every have any other questions! Warmly, Katy
